Kym Marsh has been cautioned for illegally dumping her old 'Coronation Street' scripts.

The 36-year-old actress, who plays Michelle Connor in ITV soap, faced a charge for fly-tipping after old papers, bin bags of rubble and pieces of furniture were found by a road.

Council inspectors traced the rubbish back to the mum-of-three, after envelopes with her details on were left inside a bag.

Kym was due to appear at Manchester Magistrates Court yesterday, (08.08.12) charged with "failing to have a duty of care for disposal of rubbish".

However, prosecutors agreed to drop the charge after the actress accepted a caution from Salford Council.

She also paid for all clean-up and legal costs, which are thought to have run into thousands of pounds.

Kym claimed she was the victim of a scam, after she paid a man £60 to clear the rubbish which had been piling outside her house during renovation work.

In a statement issued last month, a spokesperson said: "Kym paid someone in good faith to remove the rubbish but realises now she should have asked to see a license.

"She didn't think any more of it until she heard from Salford Council, who wanted to speak to her about rubbish dumped on the roadside.

"Kym would never have given it to somebody if she thought that was going to happen."

A 'Corrie' spokesman said to the 'Daily Mirror': "Kym is relieved the prosecution has been withdrawn and she's now able to draw a line under this matter."
